Program Length

21 weeks’ program, 8 hours per day. 747 hours.
40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm (in class)
This is an Instructor lead program

Please note:

Total hours may be affected due to Statutory Holidays that fall within the course schedule.
Practicum hours are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Practicum placement 6 to 3 or 7 to 4. Placement can be up to a 50 to 75Km radius from the campus location

Admission Requirements

• Secondary School Diploma (OSSD or equivalent) OR
• Be at least 18 years of age (or age specified in program approval) and pass Wonderlic Test
• Signed Vulnerable Sector Disclaimer
• Signed Medical Disclaimer
• NACC Technical Literacy Exam (passing score of 18), OR
• IELTS – Int’l English Language Testing Services – Minimum score of 6.0 with no subject test score lower than 5.5; OR
• TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test (IBT) – Over 80 with the minimum of each component: Reading 20; Listening 20; Speaking 20; Writing 20.

Other Requirements

• Level C Basic Rescuer and Standard First Aid PRIOR TO commencing ANY placement hours.
• Submit a completed Vulnerable Sector Disclaimer document signed that includes a criminal background within 45 days of the commencement of study.
• Submit a complete Medical Report, within 45 days of commencement of study.

Please note you will need a copy of your COVID Vaccines plus the booster. You will also need your flu shot if attending placement during the fall and winter months.
